Swami Vivekananda (January 12, 183 - July 4, 1902; fatherly name Narendranath Dutta) was an Indian Hindu monk and a leading disciple of the nineteenth-century Hindu guru Paramahansa.

 Swami Vivekananda is a unique genius who helped shape the modern religion and culture and indirectly the Indian national consciousness.

Despite being accustomed to the inherited Hindu way of life, conduct and religious ceremonies, he was a fierce critic of many of the ideological deviations of Hinduism.
